The fig is well known for its delicious fruit and the strategic use of its leaves in the Garden of Eden. A native of Asia Minor, it was widely revered as a sacred tree to all religions and was considered to be the most intelligent of trees, one step removed from the animal kingdom.
Symbolism: It is the tree of wisdom and integrity.
Thoughts: Dream in the sun, with a delicious glass of cold wine and a plate of figs.
Can be grown in a pot or against a suuny wall.
They do best in fairly poor stony soil to encourage fruit.
